I am new to nginx, I'm trying to configure a fresh install of the server to act as a gzip proxy between our application layer and BigCouch.
BigCouch does not currently support gzip compression but we would love to be able to POST compressed json to the BigCouch cluster using nginx as a proxy. I have configured a simple location with a proxy_pass to our BigCouch cluster but I suspect that the default behaviour of nginx is not to decompress before proxying the request.
Is there a way to decompress before passing on the request ?
