You can use the up to date FPM version from the PHP SVN. It works en
5.3.2 and should work on 5.3.0 and 5.3.1 also but I haven't tested it
yet.

1- Download 5.3.2 archive
2- extract it
3- move to the sapi directory
4- checkout the FPM sources by: svn co
http://svn.php.net/repository/php/php-src/branches/PHP_5_3_FPM/sapi/fpm
fpm
5- rebuild the sources with: ./buildconf --force
6- configure PHP with FPM support by adding --enable-fpm
7- compile and install (make && make install)

As it's the up to date version, I don't know if this bug still exists.
you can try and tell us if it still exists.
