I hope the old site will put up a 5.2.14 patch despite the 5.3.3 fpm
inclusion.

Thanks

I still have to use 5.2.x myself, so I definitely want to make sure it
is an option, I just haven't had time with OSCON to try to compile it.
Typically the old patch still works. I say -typically- as there was
one change that had to be made a couple versions back.

Since everyone who is anyone on the PHP project that cares about the
cgi-fcgi SAPI seems to have moved on to 5.3, i don't envision any
changes that should effect php-fpm from patching, building, and
running the same. as php.net says:

"This release marks the end of the active support for PHP 5.2.
Following this release the PHP 5.2 series will receive no further
active bug maintenance. Security fixes for PHP 5.2 might be published
on a case by cases basis. All users of PHP 5.2 are encouraged to
upgrade to PHP 5.3."

At the moment, I don't have any reason to believe it won't work
transparently. I am compiling it right now, I will report back if it
shows an error (I am even running "make test" for kicks too.

So far it was able to apply the PHP-FPM patch, and the Suhosin patch
(they've released one for 5.2.14 already too, thanks guys) and it
appears to be building and applying the same way as before.

I would not expect any feature enhancements/etc. for PHP-FPM for PHP
5.2.x or earlier. It is purely "keeping the lights on" mode now. PHP
5.2.x releases will slow down too, as there should only be releases
for critical/security issues now.

I desperately want to move up to 5.3.3 but at the moment I have to
support way too much crappy code. :(

Keeping the lights on for 5.2.x is all I expect ... just wanted to be
sure the fpm lights will be kept on.

I will move to 5.3.x as soon as the ART Repo includes it.

Noticed the patch is up ... Thanks.

Separate issue ... Will be possible to include other files into the
new fpm conf as in nginx.

You asking if php 5.3.3 has include support in the conf? Yes. :)

Yes, I meant to ask "will it be possible ....?".

Great that it can. Means setting up for virtual hosts will be
straightforward. Will just add an "include pool/*.pool" or similar.

Looking forward to going to 5.3.3.

Thanks
