did you investigate disk I/O?

I found this to be the limiting factor. If you have shell access and if
it is a Linux machine, you can run 'top', 'dstat' and 'htop' to get an
idea about what is happening. 'dstat' gives you disk I/O and network
I/O.

Kind regards,
