I would like to allow authentication with client certificates or, if none is availabe, http basic auth as a fallback. In Apache, it is possible to do a "FakeBasicAuth", i.e. Apache will pass the certificate's DN as a user name to the basic auth module. Does nginx somehow support this scenario?
