I created a module to generate secured download links on the fly directly inside nginx, via ssi. i would like to know if you people find that useful or not and if you maybe see things to improve in the code? this is the howto use: http://bit.ly/9KiGaV and this is the source: http://github.com/replay/ngx_http_generate_secure_download_links please don't put it into production, its really not testby replay - Nginx Mailing List - English
found my problem with my module, it was simply because i've set the last_buf to 1 in my buffer. now my problem seems solved. still i'm wondering why the ssi is including those strange characters into the outputted result... i have to add that in the end of test.html and abc.html there was actually a 0x0a and 0x0d, because they got added by my vi. but it still doesn't explain those characters that i asked for in the previous mail. just now i discovered something strange, or maybe i just don't understand it. i did a very simple test of the nginx ssi module with the following nginx conf: 37 location / { 38 ssi on; 39 root html; 40 } 41 42 location /gen_sec_link { 43 rewrite . /abc.html last; 45 } inside the html folder i have two files file test.hby replay - Nginx Mailing List - English

thanks for the tip i did what you said and pushed the newest version of the code to github. but i still haven't found the problem, it keeps behaving the same way. in gdb the buffer which i am returning from my handler function looks perfectly fine to me and its so simply that i can hardly imagine that there is a problem: Breakpoint 2, ngx_http_generate_secure_download_link_handler (r=0x100860a1by replay - Nginx Mailing List - English
thanks for the reply, i added the output of two requests to this mail. the first was working perfectly, the nginx gave the browser the result back and then closed the connection. in the second request the nginx also sent the result back to the browser but did then not close the connection... to me it seems like the problem happens if i refresh in very short time after i requested a page already,by replay - Nginx Mailing List - English
i have also realized that this problem really only happens if i access the location which has the generate_secure_download_link enabled via ssi. if i directly request a uri in the location with the module enabled i don't have any problem at all, only if the location gets called via the virtual of the ssi, i run into this problem that sometimes nginx doesn't close the connection to the client rightby replay - Nginx Mailing List - English
hi i have a problem while writing an nginx module which i want to generate secure download links, which can then be verified by the NginxHttpSecureDownload module and later maybe also the secure link module. i wrote it as a content handler which can then be called over an ssi include, like in the following example: <a href="<!--# include virtual="/gen_sec_link/this_is_my_link&quoby replay - Nginx Mailing List - English

i haven't tested this. but one thing that you could check is doing the lookups in an eval block, using the nginx mod eval. then use the reply to select the upstream. maybe also use the memc module to cache the reply in memcache http://github.com/vkholodkov/nginx-eval-module http://github.com/agentzh/memc-nginx-module what i don't know is how to do the lookup using dns/ldap On Wed, May 12, 201by replay - Nginx Development

thanks for your answer. i'll go with php 5.3.x + svn for now. originally i was already trying the php 5.3.x + svn, but then experienced some parsing problems of the config file. it seems that the the value of min_spare_servers always gets copied into max_spare_servers, which means that they will always be equal, which means that start_servers also has to be exactly that value. this made me assumeby replay - Php-fpm Mailing List - English

hi the good news is, the consistent hash upstream module works with dns now. the bad news is, it seems to be impossible to do this without patching the nginx. since i really don't like patching the nginx, i created a fork of my module on github, which includes the patches that you have to apply on the nginx. here you can download the updated module and the patches for your nginx version from theby replay - Nginx Mailing List - English
