Hi I have an nginx setup on multiple download servers. I've setup a monitor server to check my servers at interval and when the servers seem to be at their peak I get connection timeout from my servers. I've set limit_conn 64 for each remote_ip to make sure one user can't hog the server. today when I was receiving the timeout warnings, I checked the stub status of my server and it seems the serby mojiz - Nginx Mailing List - English
Hadn't thought of that We could still use SAS 15K drives ,anyway even if the ssd thing works for a year or two I think the advantage will cover the costby mojiz - Nginx Mailing List - English
Hi I'm trying to setup a reverse proxy for some private downloads. Here is our setup: 3 Storage servers with High capacity but slow HDDs running nginx 1 loadbalancing server with SSD and high internet uplink. my file sizes are several hundred megabytes (500+ up to 2GB) running nginx downloaders are on slow connections with download managers with up to 16 connections for each file here is wby mojiz - Nginx Mailing List - English
Thanks for the answeres. about the memory the problem is I'm hitting this on only some of my servers but not all, one of my servers has only 3GB memory which 1G is used but on another 16GB/16GB is used. The ngx_slowfs_cache module is usefull when the server has 2 type disks, SATA and SAS, but I have two servers which I want to do the proxying. I'm looking at the included proxy module somethiby mojiz - Nginx Mailing List - English
Hi We are using nginx & SATA disks on several of our file servers. However after hitting 12MBytes/s of port speed (server nic is a 1gbps), the server gets down to it's knees. SSH becomes very slow/unresponsive and our users complain about slow speeds and dropped connections. Our users/downloaders have very slow speed (like 512kbits/s) so there are lots of users downloading from each server. Iby mojiz - Nginx Mailing List - English
Hi I don't know if this is appropriate place or not but there is a bug with proxy_bind, the directive has to be inside a location to work. I'm sure this wasn't true for early versions. so this won't work: proxy_bind 1.7.2.109; location /test { . . . proxy_pass ...; } while this does location /test { .by mojiz - Nginx Mailing List - English
Hi I have seen sometimes that google dns has banned my servers. Since I use proxy hostnames instead of ips, does the nginx cache the response from dns servers or queries them everytime it receives a request? Regardsby mojiz - Nginx Mailing List - English
What exactly do you mean by 'suffer'? I'm using limit_rate to slow the user downloads.by mojiz - Nginx Mailing List - English
Thanks Max. It worked!by mojiz - Nginx Mailing List - English
Hi I have an nginx server nginx version: nginx/1.1.2 I'm using limit_rate to limt download speed of my users however after an upgrade(I can't remember the version) it doesn't work anymore. Do you know why or how can I debug this? The debug log doesn't show anything. BTW I'm using nginx_proxy to send a file from my backends to my users. I have used X-Accel-Limit-Rate, limit_rate and $liby mojiz - Nginx Mailing List - English
Seems the problem was with the DNS not nginx. Thanksby mojiz - Nginx Mailing List - English
Hi I have a weird problem with nginx. a specific host will not be resolved by nginx. 9934#0: *22920 fsdndm.fileserve.com could not be resolved (3: Host not found) the system has no problem resolving this host and nginx can resolve every other host. (eg. ping fsdndm.fileserve.com works ). I have tried everything but nginx can't just resolve this one host. Regardsby mojiz - Nginx Mailing List - English

Whenever I try to output a large table, for instance a table with 1000 rows, the page cuts the output. It just cuts the output and finishes it with no error. (No error in output, nginx error.log, php5-fpm.log) I've tried changing the fastcgi_read_timeout 600; but no luck. the application worked correctly on apache but it doesn't work on nginx.
