If you post in forum that goes to mailing list, with content enclosed in square brackets, the forum will show the square brackets, but the mailing list will not. Content is completely lost on e-mail copy. This happened to me with: location = /base { } location ^~ /base { } Shows up on mail like this: location = /base { } location ^~ /base { } Maybe overzealous bbcode strippinby kyleb - Site Suggestions
Ugh. Sorry to reply to own post, but forum ate square brackets and changed meaning in mail archive. It should have said like this: > This worked consistently in 0.7.6x (and according to the docs, it should work): > > location = /base { (some stuff) } > location ^~ /base { (different stuff) } > > Apologies.by kyleb - Nginx Mailing List - English
This worked consistently in 0.7.6x (and according to the docs, it should work): location = /base { } location ^~ /base { } On testing 0.8.30, accessing http://my.server/base works, but http://my.server/base/plus/long/path/used.by.application hangs for awhile, then returns a socket error. I even tried differentiating configuration with trailing slash: location ^~ /base/ { } ...bby kyleb - Nginx Mailing List - English
Given the unreliability of using system libraries, nginx really does do it right by building its own PCRE, OpenSSL, and zlib. However, lots of extraneous stuff gets built for these items (such as manpages). This drastically increases nginx build time, particularly for the OpenSSL part. Just try building nginx repeatedly for debugging purposes, and watching those openssl manpage installationsby kyleb - Nginx Mailing List - English

nginx version: 0.7.62 OpenSSL version: 1.0.0-beta3 Platform: Linux 2.6.18 x64 * Short description of problem: * (a) nginx seems not to handle ephemeral DH key exchanges with EC. (kx=ECDHE, auth=ECDSA) Connection dies on handshake. (b) A build error in 0.7.62 seems to indicate that the problem is in nginx, and not an openssl misconfiguration on my part. =) * Long description of probleby kyleb - Nginx Mailing List - English
