Found the problem!!!! First problem. My OS is Ubunto 11.01, when I installed it as a server setup it automatically installed Apache as well and had set apache to start at boot time. So what happened was Apache, grabbed port 80 before nginx could. Then the second problem occurred when I logged in and tried to restart nginx, for some reason I didn't have the permission as sudo. I'll have to fixby DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
This morning we had one of those power disruptions (the kind that last just long enough to cause you to reset the clock). Now when I restart Nginx I get the error that it can't open the error.log file /var/log/nginx/error.log failed (13:permission denied) also get the failure for the configuration file /var/run/nginx.pid failed (13:permission denied) configuration fileby DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
Forms are writing to the database! Thanks Unai, and have a great day!by DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
Unai thank-you so much for your help and pointing me in the right direction. I just did a test and now the forms are working. I can write to a text file and when I changed it to see if I could write to a database I did not get the 502 BAD Gateway Error. (Instead I got a message saying it couldn't connect to the database.....but I think this is my error.....going to set up a new dBase and test aby DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
okay.....I retraced my installation of PHP and it looks like I had never started a PHP FastCGI daemon (if that makes any sense) now I am able to see the php info page. I can also see under modules that MySQL is running. I am going to test my forms again right now.by DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
Yes I get the error, "502 Bad Gateway", when I request a PHP page. I checked on my terminal and php5-fpm is running. I also use a php script in the nginx config to run webstats which is also running. What information should I post to help solve this problem?????by DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
So the only thing that I have found is this HttpFormInputModule.......looks like I will have to uninstall the rpm version and then download the source code and recompile/reconfigure nginx. The last time I did this I had added the http_flv_module but during that recompiling I could not get the http_xslt_module to compile at all and did it without_http_xslt_module. I really didn't want to doby DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
I have just recently set-up a new LEMP in Ubuntu 11.10 (64-bit) and running NGinX ver 1.0.5. the server is running fine but I cannot seem to get any forms to work. On my old server (windows) the forms worked fine, but now I get the following error "502 Bad Gateway". NGinX was installed with apt-get install, it is not a version that I compiled myself. Also I am running PHP5-Fastcgi.by DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
Hi all, Before changing over to NGinX all my podcast and videocast feeds were working fine.....after changing to NGinX the server is serving them as html pages rather than feeds (file extension is xml). Any ideas as to what is going on? Or how to fix this????by DeneB - Php-fpm Mailing List - English
....had to install automake...by DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
I have NGinX installed from the Ubuntu rpm but since we deal with alot of flv files I wanted to recompile NGinX with the http_flv_module. It goes fine until the point when I use the make command and make install command. Then I get "command not found" so I tried sudo make and still nothing......I am stumped.by DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
Antonio Thanks for your help too! Sorry I thought all the replies were Alek..... Thank-you all!by DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
Finally!!!!!!! I have Awstats working!!!!!!! The undefined fastcgi parameter is a result of using ENV in the cgi-bin.php So I replaced ENV with SERVER and it works!!!!! So with Ubuntu 11.10 (64-bit), Awstats, and Nginx 1.05 the cgi-bin.php looks like this (where it now reads $_SERVER....it used to read $ENV): <?php $descriptorspec = array( 0 => array("pipe", "r&quoby DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
Alek, Thanks for your help......I haven't fixed the problem but your input has highlighted the problem. Now I understand where this is happening (in the fastcgi parameters) and in what file. If I can discover why it is undefined then it looks like I'll have the problem fixed. Another note: I think the debug output is on because when I stop nginx and start again....I have no errors, but beforby DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
BINGO! Got the error.log working and I found something! (But don't know how to fix it) This is what I found..... 2011/12/28 20:20:51 19200#0: *9 FastCGI sent in stderr: "PHP Notice: Undefined index: X_SCRIPT_FILENAME in /etc/nginx/cgi-bin.php on line 9 PHP Notice: Undefined index: X_SCRIPT_NAME in /etc/nginx/cgi-bin.php on line 10 PHP Notice: Undefined index: X_SCRIPT_FILENAME iby DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
Aleks Thanks for replying..... I am looking at the error log and it is blank, let me check to see the problem with the log. I will get back to you on this and then try to config the debug output.by DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
Hi All, I have recently set-up a new LEMP on Ubuntu 11.10 (64-bit), it is a pretty simple set-up and all is running fine. That is until I try to get Awstats working. I have diligently followed the Awstats set up outlined at http://blog.rubynginx.com/index.php/2010_01_25/setup-awstats-phpmyadmin-phppgadmin-with-nginx-on-ubuntu/ However, when I enter the URL in a browser I get page not founby DeneB - Nginx Mailing List - English
