I have set up a tcpdump log, to see if this may be problem, but it'll have to wait until the next time the glitch happens to get a reading. I have admin access to all servers, and host box. This is similar to a previous question, but my log data shows the opposite problem. I am seeing rare requests that take perhaps 3s or more, but typical response times are 100ms or less.
