for the patch this still works. the new version is -not- a patch. why don't you use 5.2.11? i guess paste your php-fpm log too. that config seems okay. maybe increase the number of processes from 5 to 20? or something more than 5 On Thu, Oct 22, 2009 at 4:14 PM, roguehosting <nginx-forum@nginx.us> wrote: > > Here is link to conf file: > http://pastebin.com/m40e8a4cb > I checked log and i don't see anything unusual, mostly childs spawn repeatinby mike - Php-fpm Mailing List - English
no, we're going to a different model starting with 0.6.x - the patch is not "supported" per se past 5.2.11 - no guarantees after that, although 5.3.0 has a patch that appears to work too. that environment variable is useless when using php-fpm. there are no environment variables when using php-fpm it's all controlled via the config. look at the php-fpm log. you may have some scripts taking too long eating up too many resources, you can bump up the number of engines for example. if you try those things and it's still not obvious, pastebin your config and send the link and we can eby mike - Php-fpm Mailing List - English

I have switched around my architecture now, and I have one nginx server that is serving up all static content and proxying FastCGI (php) stuff to one of three servers that are basically just running PHP-FPM. I have a website that allows for large file uploads - I just tried uploading a 160 meg file, and it chugged along all the way until the end, then I got this: 2009/10/13 22:23:46 28261#0: *3by mike - Nginx Mailing List - English
I am using php 5.2.11 on linux using the 5.2.10 patch and other than a couple configure file offset mismatches, it appears to work just fine on Ubuntu Jaunty. (remember, this is the -patch- not the new FPM) I assume the same for FreeBSD... I don't think anything in the FastCGI SAPI really changed between 5.2.10 <-> 5.2.11 that the patch couldn't handle. should have a conditional check if php-fpm.conf exists... if not, then put it there. ideally something to check the syntax if one exists and look for any deprecated options would be cool :) the init script though - that -should- be safe to overwrite. or at least prompt. ther eshouldn't really be a need to change the init script.. There seems to be a religious debate about that. I want a hybrid approach, but I think dreamcat's been working to try to get it aligned for insertion. Problem is I don't think it would be in until another bigger release down the line, official repos won't pick it up for a long long time and I think it will stagnate development if we're stuck with aligning with PHP releases. There's been some thrash lately due to the new direction PHP-FPM has taken. FYI I'm running the 5.2.10 patch with suhosin as well It has 3 or 4 offsets in configure that are wrong but otherwise it applies without an issue and seems to run flawlessly. So the 5.2.10 patch can still work with 5.2.11. I used the php 5.2.10 FPM patch (not the new version) with php 5.2.11 - it had a couple offsets in configure but it appears to be working properly. I didn't have time to use the new method yet - and is it production ready dreamcat? Didn't you mention a couple outstanding issues? You don't need any patches besides php-fpm if you use the patch and suhosin is a good one. Otherwise compile it yourself - i even have a build script I use for centos/rhell. But I can't access it at the moment. dreamcat: is it still built the same way, with php-fpm only needing a vanilla php build? if so, then it doesn't matter what modules are enabled/disabled/etc. when you compile php for php-fpm, you can run it against vanilla php sources and it still works.
