what about "adaptive" ? or prefork, worker, stuff like that... in theory it will be reactive or adaptive based on the number of requests and things like that 2009/11/16 Jérôme Loyet <ml@fatbsd.com>: > Hi guys, > > I'm providing this patch because I don't feel good about the > apache_like name for this /* not yet */ working pm. You can add or override fastcgi params you just have to understand the behavior of the array. Also afaik _ENV is only for cli. Use _SERVER instead. Also php 5.3 has overrides built in now on the user level and you cam use htscanner. Because some settings you won't be able to change via ini_set either. Well phpinfo will show you it's search paths and the changes you make should take effect after restarting php-fpm. Maybe post your php.ini? we can keep it at php-fpm.org for primary if it helps (dreamcat: we could figure out a way to mirror it from launchpad automatically if needed, if launchpad rolls it for us or something) On Fri, Nov 6, 2009 at 4:10 PM, dreamcat four <dreamcat4@gmail.com> wrote: > > Hi Steve, > Unfortunately we simply cannot do anything about http redirects for > files hosted on launchpad.net.by mike - Php-fpm Mailing List - English

You should enforce but if you're running a hosting service people will mess it up period. Even scripts owned properly can be exploited and don't even need root to do damage. I don't think PHP script owner matching alone would be 100% secure. that's why Apache's suexec has so many safeguards with ownership and parent directory ownership etc. I'm sure it took a few exploits and years of real-world examples before getting that list right. You're right it isn't 100% but if fpm can get the dynamic spawning setup it will be the closest thing possible. At one point I was thinking it would be cool to use regex or location style blocks to dynamically assign uid/gid, i.e. location /home/mike { uid mike; gid mike; } Or something Sent from my iPhone On Nov 2, 2009, at 3:01 PM, Jools <buzz@exotica.org.uk> wrote: >by mike - Php-fpm Mailing List - English
heh, multiple spawn-fcgi per user is going to be the same deal - you have to define a specific amount of engines per user. the main thing missing in php-fpm is the adaptive process spawning. it will allow you to make a pool for each user, but have low and high limits - say, 1 or 2 engines running idle at any given time with the ability to spike to 20, and after a certain time, idle children are tby mike - Php-fpm Mailing List - English
Yup. Developer is going to package it up and well throw it up in a public svn git or bzr repo and people can download test and submit patches and fixes back.
