php-fpm-0.6~5.2.11.tar.gz libevent install problem
November 27, 2009 11:53PM
I have installed php-fpm before with 5.2.10 before it was moved to laundpad. I'm trying to install the 5.2.11 patch on my vps using the readme.markdown integrated step and it fails when it cannot find libevent. I have compiled 1.4.12 by source and installed 1.4.13 by source with necessary links but it just can't find it. Using centos 5.3

Any assistance is appreciated as the separate method would change my current configuration too much.

thanks. I found an answer --with-libevent=shared,usr or --with-libevent=shared --with-libevent=user but that thread was suppose to be updated on a fix.. Which I can't find. In attempting to find it I found this link: http://forum.nginx.org/read.php?3,9364 which is useful.

please update this in the readme. finding these solutions can be a pain in the A$$ and I'm still not sure if it's a good idea.

It seems that php-fpm can not detect libevent.a on CentOS 5.3

I compiled libevent into /usr/local/lib. Everything was OK. But when
php-fpm was configured with --with-libevent=/usr/local/lib it said
libevent.a was not found. What I needed to do is to change
configuration to --with-libevent=shared,/usr/local/lib, it seemed to
be fine

I don't know if it is a PHP-FPM bug

Okay, well this doesn't sound like a "bug" if there is a workaround;
it's more of an "annoyance" that can hopefully be fixed.

I am trying to figure out how to create a grid on the download page
right now of PHP versions and their corresponding PHP-FPM versions
(where applicable)

Also, installation notes which should include things like this -
specific instructions for different distros that aren't covered under
the generic ones
