Why Can NOT I Use the INI format within PHP-FPM.config

Posted by Bing
I am fire-new:) I install the php-fpm on ubuntu via aptitude.

I read some tutorials, and noticed that most of them are using INI style.

However, the default php.fpm.conf is written by XML syntax.

I have tested the INI style, it can NOT be parsed; as the fatal error threw
out when I want to start the services.

Once I switched back to XML one, it works:)

Could you please help me to understand!

Thanks!

Which ubuntu release are you using and what is the php5-fpm version
which is reported by "php5-fpm -v"? The syntax was changed from XML
style to INI style quite a while ago...

The config file format changed when PHP-FPM became bundled with PHP.
Anything >= 5.3.3 (iirc) uses the new config style, so you're probably
using an outdated/older package?

Kind Regards,
