I get this make error when compiling php + php-fpm

make: *** No rule to make target `/root/packages/php-5.2.11/sapi/fpm/
{}', needed by `sapi/fpm/{}.lo'. Stop.

I looked in the sapi/fpm folder and there is no Makefile in there. As
far as I could tell the configure completed successfully.

any ideas what could be going on here?

my OS is opensolaris not that it should make much difference.
