I downloaded this patch file http://www.2shared.com/file/5008466/4549200/php-fpm.html

to patch the PHP-FPM port on FreeBSD for PHP 5.2.9 but I do not know
how to actually apply the patch

I've put it into /usr/ports/lang/php5-fpm/php-fpm.patch

and tried, while in /usr/ports/lang/php5-fpm

patch < php-fpm.patch

and it asked me for which files to patch.

Can someone please tell me how to apply this patch to get PHP-FPM
working with PHP 5.2.9?

fetch the ports file here

http://php-fpm.anight.org/downloads/freebsd-port/

modify accordingly (namely changing the version to 5.2.9)

To do this you need to take the 5.2.8 version, change everything in the distro file for 5.2.9. See the distro file for php 5.2.9

Then you need to update the makefile and refer to php 5.2.9 file again.

Also you will get an error when attempting to install. You then need to remove the offending lines from the file it gives an error from.
I've download the port from http://php-fpm.anight.org/downloads/freebsd-port/,
and modified Makefile and distinfo to php 5.2.9. Also, I changed the
patches in the files/ directory from lang/php5 port.

But when make install, it always display error with:

1 out of 4 hunks failed--saving rejects to configure.in.rej
=> Patch patch-configure.in failed to apply cleanly.
=> Patch(es) patch-TSRM_threads.m4 patch-Zend::zend.h patch-
Zend_zend_list.c patch-Zend_zend_list.h patch-acinclude.m4 applied
cleanly.
*** Error code 1

Anyone can help me?
