Have you wanted to use mod_pagespeed to speed up your site, but been
unable to because you don't use Apache? We've now finished the
initial version of an Nginx port. You can see it in action, with
examples of each of our optimizations, on our demonstration site:

http://ngxpagespeed.com

Keep in mind that this is alpha (early stage) software and most sites
should wait until we release a beta version. When we have that ready
we'll announce it here:

https://groups.google.com/group/ngx-pagespeed-announce

To try out the current version, see:

https://github.com/pagespeed/ngx_pagespeed#how-to-build
https://github.com/pagespeed/ngx_pagespeed#how-to-use

If you run into problems, please let us know. We're happy to look at
why ngx_pagespeed isn't working in your situation, and problems you
run into probably affect more people than just you.

Thanks to Otto van der Schaaf, Ben Noordhuis, Yao Weibin, Junmin
Xiong, Jan-Willem Maessen, Jud Porter, Maksim Orlovich, Shawn Ligocki,
and Joshua Marantz for their contributions and assistance. If you'd
like to help out, send an email to
ngx-pagespeed-discuss@googlegroups.com; there's lots to do!
