Hello all I am trying to compile a static version of nginx on Arch Linux. This is my first attempt at compiling a static program. I have tried a bunch of different options from examples that I have found googling around, but I have not had any success. I am hoping that someone can help point me in the correct direction.

I am using a PKGBUILD file to build the package in a clean CHROOT environment.
LINUX: 4.13.7-1-ARCH

GCC version: gcc-7.3.0-1

openssl_version: openssl-1.0.2m
pcre_version: pcre-8.41
zlib_version: zlib-1.2.11

NGINX version: 1.13.7
