Cheers,

We have a site that increased a little bit the number of visitors, as well as the number of crawls coming specially from googlebot and msbot. Sometimes, it gets really hard to maintain the site fast and stable.

This little issues in performance are new, and we addressed little changes in Nginx in order to improve the situation.

After the changes, the situation got a bit more complicated, since we are experiencing 1 minute timeouts in random moments. Our logs don't relate those timeouts with the surge in traffic, so we think the current Nginx configuration could be easily improved.

Our site:

- Django app in one amazon medium instance.
- Postgresql database in a 2nd instance.
- Staging instance to test changes before rolling them out to the medium instance.

We would appreciate your help.

We are looking for a person experienced in the stack we are in, since AWS environment has its particularities and the goal is to "help" more than to "learn" and "share". Task driven work.
