Custom reverse proxy
October 10, 2009 03:01AM
Hi,

I just found out about nginx.

I run a heavy entertainment multimedia website (www.cuppax.in). I am trying to speed up the site using a reverse proxy. My server runs Apache on Fedora core 8. I tried using Squid but so far have not been successful in configuring it. I got fed up and now I am trying to configure nginx.

I want to run both nginx and apache on the same server. Nginx should be passing "misses" to apache. More importantly it should save the "misses" so that next time the same request is a "hit". My website is mostly static. The pages dont change frequently. So nginx should be caching whole pages.

Please let me know how to configure nginx to achieve the above mentioned purpose.

Thanks,
Ranjith
