What about using the geolocation service from www.IPAddressLabs.com ?
Using the MaxMind DB is very nice, but the "lite" version is not so current. And buying their latest version of the DB is very expensive, not only the first time you do it but also in the following updates. It would be great to have the option to configure Nginx to call the web service that offers IPAddressLabs. They have some free editions that we can use, using a current database, and with a reasonable monthly quota. They also have a paid version with a really high quota per day. And it is very cheap to buy their service.
