In The Name Of God The compassionate merciful

Good day everyone ;
What is Kernel ?would you explain just your self in minimum 1/2 line ? This
kernel explanation will be copied into a typographic ubuntu book so sites
and ebooks can not be used for this aim . so just your self tell .

The kernel is a central control thing. A bit like the central control
room for an airport. The planes all fly by themselves but need the
control room for good and safe operation.

Minimum or maximum?
The general gist of it is that the kernel is the bit of the operating
system that means the rest of it doesn't need to know exactly which
bits of hardware it is running on, since the kernel presents a uniform
and standard interface. It also simplifies (and sometimes hides) common
low-level tasks so they don't need to be reimplemented by applications.
The proper scope of a kernel is open to some debate.

It is just safe to say that all Unix computers require a
kernel to control what the computer does.

A kernel is a piece of software that has two primary functions:
1) abstraction layer between hardware and (user) software, so that each
user software doesn't need to know how the hardware works.
2) manage resources like memory, cpu, storage,...

This is true for any operating system, not just Linux.

To be honest, it's what I remembered after reading Modern Operating
Systems by Andrew S. Tanenbaum 2 years ago. That book may have been
published as an ebook, but I rephrased it in my own words.

Why have you not run a search on "linux kernel"?

Are you going to write a book on Ubuntu? Shouldn't you use more
reliable sources than a mailing list (no offence intended), like
asking a kernel expert (from Canonical for example)?

Off-topic question: are you asking this question on behalf of God The
compassionate merciful? I would have believed he had a better
knowledge on... well... everything around.

This is a purely technical list, read by an international audience. If you
want to respect all cultures, religions, races,... then you should not
include such language if it is not strictly needed. It may offend people
that do not share your religion. Your deity will appreciate it if you
don't use his/her/its name in vain.

> Who are owners of this list ?

That would be Canonical.

(The etymology of my name is also religious, it means "out of love for
god" or "loved by god". The irony is that I consider myself an ignost:
someone who thinks that all religious views, including atheism _and_
agnosticism, try to answer the wrong questions, and that human language
will never be able to express the correct question. "Does god exist" has
the same value for me as "colorless green dreams sleep furiously".
Meanwhile I respect everyone with another opinion, and it's always
interesting to learn about new cultures. I just don't want to learn about
them on a technical mailing list.)
